Prospective bidders could specify the minimum order quantity that would be acceptable to them, it added.
The selected bidders would have to ship cargo in a parcel size of 25,000-40,000 tonnes plus minus 10% at the option of STC, the agency said.
The last date for the submission of bids was 7 April, it said.
STC said the prospective bidders should submit offers “at a discount” on a “fair market price” on a FOBT (free on board trimmed) basis.
The company has entered the global market after a gap of a few years for the purchase of fertilizer under the government account. Another state trading house, MMTC Limited, has been regularly importing urea on behalf of government for the last few years.
