SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Toray Plastics Malaysia has started commercial production at its new acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) plant in Penang, a senior company official said on Monday.
The senior official added that the plant started commercial production late last week after successfully completing its trial runs from mid-March.
The new plant has a capacity of 110,000 tonnes/year, out of which 70,000 tonnes/year are regular resins and the remaining are transparent resins.
Toray is currently the largest producer of ABS in southeast Asia, operating five lines with a combined capacity of 330,000 tonnes/year.
