SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japanese purified terephthalic acid (PTA) maker Mitsui Chemicals has raised its April nomination by $80/tonne (€50.4) from the previous month on higher feedstock paraxylene (PX) prices, a company source said on Tuesday
Its April nomination was at $1,030/tonne CFR (cost and freight) CMP (China main port) on high paraxylene which was notionally firmer at $1,330/tonne CFR CMP.
PTA is used to make polyester fibres and yarns and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) chips.
