SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--South Korea’s Lotte Daesan and Korea Petrochemical Industry Co (KPIC) have started turnarounds at their naphtha crackers on schedule, company spokesmen from both companies said on Wednesday.

"KPIC’s cracker in Onsan was idled yesterday for maintenance, as per schedule. It will be started up again on 25 April," the spokesperson from KPIC said.

Lotte Daesan’s naphtha cracker in Daesan would undergo an expansion, along with the regular maintenance before starting production on 10 May.

This marks the start of the turnaround season for northeast Asian crackers, during which time nearly four crackers were expected to shut down simultaneously.
