LME Plastics: Borouge plans large-scale expansion

LONDON (ICIS news)--Global and regional plastics futures prices from the London Metal Exchange are given in the table below. 

United Arab Emirates-based plastics producer Borouge plans to increase its polyolefins capacity by 2.5m tonnes/year by the end of 2014 and has initiated a feasibility study for the expansion project - Borouge 3.

Stavrolen has shut down its 120,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) facility in Budyennovsk following Friday's explosion which killed three workers, amid fears Russia may face a domestic PP shortage.
