HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US Carbon black producer Cabot has closed its plant in Waverly, West Virginia as a result of falling tyre production capacity in North America, the company said on Monday.
Cabot announced in June that it would shut down the plant due to changes in the tyre industry, the company said.
In the past 24 months, North American tyre capacity has fallen, while that in Asia and South America has increased, Cabot said.
