The action plan offered concepts to research, recognise and deal with the risks despite current gaps in scientific knowledge, and to control nanomaterials within the given legal framework, the government said.
The industry would develop and handle nanomaterials in line with its commitments to Responsible Care and product stewardship, said SGCI.
Should there be a need for new regulations or laws, such rules should be introduced in coordination with other countries and international organisations, it said.
Generally, and based on today’s knowledge, current Swiss law should be able to protect people and the environment, it added.
