SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Filipino refiner Petron has awarded its first polymer-grade propylene tender to Japanese trading firm Mitsui & Co, a company source said on Thursday.
The first lifting of 1,500 tonnes was done on 1 April and more cargoes will be sold during the six months ending 30 September, he said.
Petron declined to provide further details such as the price and total quantity sold.
The polymer-grade propylene is sourced from Petron’s refinery in Bataan, Philippines.
The refinery consists of a fluidised catalytic cracker (FCC) and a propylene recovery unit (PCU) which produces 140,000 tonnes/year of propylene annually.
