Crude rises, Brent hits $109.94/bbl record high

LONDON (ICIS news)--Crude prices rose by more than a dollar on Thursday to take Brent on ICE Futures to a new record high on follow through strength after the weekly US stock figures showed substantial draws on crude and products.

 

By 9:55 GMT, May Brent crude had hit a high of $109.94/bbl, a gain of $1.47/bbl over the Wednesday close of $108.47/bbl, before easing back to around $109.85/bbl.

 

At the same time, May NYMEX crude was trading around $112.10/bbl, having hit a high of $112.16/bbl, a gain of $1.29/bbl over the previous close.
