MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Sibur-Khimprom has awarded South Korea's Toyo a contract to build a 220,000 tonne/year ethylbenzene facility at its facilities in the Perm region, Sibur said in a statement on Monday.
The project is due on stream by the end of 2010, the statement said, without disclosing financial details.
In December 2007, Sibur announced plans to build an expandable polystyrene (EPS) plant at Sibur-Khimprom.
The first stage of the EPS project, due on stream in late 2010, would have a capacity of 50,000 tonnes/year and is estimated to cost roubles (Rb) 1.6bn (€43m/$68m).
The total capacity of the EPS facility at Sibur-Khimprom could be expanded up to 100,000 tonnes/year eventually.
($1 = Rb23.48/€1 = Rb36.88)
