DUBAI (ICIS news)--Qatar Fertilizer Co (Qafco) has awarded a contract to build two 50,000 tonne capacity ammonia storage tanks to Chicago Bridge & Iron Company (CB&I) as part of its Qafco 5 fertilizer plant expansion project, a source close to company said on Tuesday.?xml:namespace>
CB&I’s work was due for completion in 2010, added the source but no financial details were revealed.
The Qafco 5 project will see the construction of two 2,300 tonne/day ammonia plants and a 3,850 tonne/day urea line.
Qafco 5 is a joint venture of Industries Qatar and Yara International.
US-based CB&I specialises in engineering, procurement and construction.
