SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--State-run Iran Petrochemical Commercial Co (IPCC) has issued a tender to sell 4,500 tonnes of ethylene for early May loading as part of its regular export, a source close to the company said on Thursday.

The tender is based on CFR (cost and freight) terms, and the preference would be to sell the cargo to southeast (SE) Asia, the source said, adding that the tender would close on 21 April.

The cargo was expected to be loaded from Assaluyeh and/or Bandar Imam Khomeini (BIK) during 6-8 May, one trader who had received the tender news said.

Last week, a closed tender from Iran for a 3,500-4,500 tonne parcel was awarded to a trader, who in turn sold the cargo to an Indonesian producer at $1,265/tonne CFR SE Asia. Iran typically exports over four ethylene cargoes each month to Asia.
