STOCKHOLM (ICIS news)--The outage caused by Wednesday’s fire at Arizona Chemical’s Oulu facility in the north of Finland will last about two weeks, said production manager Erkki Kaislanniemi on Thursday.

Deliveries from the tall oil and turpentine refinery would not be affected, as production had been transferred to the company’s facilities in Sweden.

The incident began after a pump failure in the heat recovery system at the site’s tall oil distillation plant and up to 50 firemen fought the blaze, though it was under control after about an hour and there were no injuries.

The Arizona Chemical facility in Oulu produces chemicals for adhesives, coatings and paper.
