SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--South Korean producer Kumho P&B Chemicals has shut down its No1 bisphenol-A (BPA) line for a scheduled turnaround, a company official said on Thursday.
The 35,000 tonne/year No1 line, located at its Yeochun petrochemical complex, will be offline from 16 April until 5 May.
The unit would then run until commercial production begins at its new 150,000 tonne/year BPA production facility in end-June, the source said.
The No1 line would thereafter be mothballed, he added.
Key Asian suppliers of BPA include Nan Ya Plastics, Mitsui Chemicals, LG Chemicals, and Mitsubishi Chemicals.
