Dow restarts Texas chlor-alkali plant

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Dow Chemical has resumed production at its Freeport chlor-alkali plant in Texas after a three-week shutdown for scheduled maintenance, a source close to the company said on Thursday.

The plant was put into turnaround on 27 March. It has a production capacity of 330,000 tonnes/year of chlorine and 363,000 tonnes/year of caustic soda, market sources said.

The source said Dow has scheduled another chlor-akali plant outage in October.
