SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japanese cracker operator Tosoh has restarted its cracker in Yokkaichi as scheduled, and will be running the plant at full operation rate, a company source said on Friday.

Tosoh shut its 527,000 tonne/year cracker in Yokkaichi on 10 March for a scheduled turnaround and restarted the unit today, as scheduled.

Another Japanese cracker operator, Sanyo, also recently restarted their cracker after a turnaround but faced a technical hitch, which was solved in a few days.

In the month of May and June, there will be up to four crackers shut simultaneously, marking the peak of the heavy turnaround period for Asian crackers.
