LONDON (ICIS news)--Ruwais Fertilizer Industries (Fertil) has restarted its urea unit but is yet to reach normal rates following technical work which took longer than scheduled, a company source said on Wednesday.
The United Arab Emirates producer’s 1,800 tonne/day prilled urea unit, which was shut down on 3 April for technical issues to be rectified, was restarted on 16 April and was now gradually ramping up production rates.
Current rates were not disclosed but normal production rates had not yet been achieved, the source added.
The unit was due to be started up on 13 April but the repair work took longer than expected.
