Heren Energy launches a new NBP spot gas weekend index

London, 23 April 2008 - Heren Energy is pleased to confirm the launch of a new spot gas weekend index within European Spot Gas Markets, as of Friday, 7th March, to add to its extensive portfolio of gas pricing benchmarks.

The new NBP Spot Weekend Index is a weighted average price of all the weekend deals reported by Heren Energy at the British gas hub on the final working day immediately preceding the delivery period. Please note that this differs from the existing Heren NBP Weekend Index, which is based on all the weekend deals reported throughout the week preceding the delivery period.

The new NBP Spot Weekend Index is therefore aimed at providing a market value for weekend gas on a nearer-to-delivery basis than the existing Heren NBP Weekend Index.

“As spot markets become increasingly volatile, we want to provide subscribers with an additional index for weekend delivered gas that more closely reflects value immediately before the start of delivery,” said Editor of European Spot Gas Markets, Anusha de Silva.
