SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japanese acrylonitrile (ACN) major Asahi Kasei Chemicals has raised its May contract nomination by $40/tonne from the previous month on rising upstream costs and tight supply, a company source said on Thursday.
The May Far East Contract Price nomination was at $2,060/tonne on a CFR (cost and freight)
However, a wide price gap has separated buyers and sellers in the May contract negotiations.
Bids from end-users in the derivative acrylic fibre (AF) industry were about $80-100/tonne lower.
