SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Nippon Petroleum Refining Co (NPRC) has restarted units at its 127,000 bbl/day Marifu refinery in Japan following recent planned maintenance, an industry source said on Monday.

The crude distillation unit (CDU) and the vacuum distillation unit (VDU) at the Marifu refinery were restarted late last week after being shutdown on 15 March for 40 days, the source said.

A fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) which was shutdown at around the same time was restarted after 37 days of planned maintenance.

Operations were also reported to have resumed at a continuous catalytic reformer (CCR) which was also shutdown at the same time.

NPRC is a subsidiary of Nippon Oil. NPRC operates six refineries in Japan with a combined refining capacity of some 1.16m bbl/day. In addition, another NOC subsidiary Nihonkai Oil operates a 60,000 bbl/day refinery at Toyama.
