SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Northeast Asia caprolactam contracts for April were mostly agreed $45/tonne (€29/tonne) up at $2,500-2,510/tonne on upstream costs and upward pressure from the spot market, sellers and buyers said on Monday.

The settlements were agreed on a CFR (cost and freight) NE Asia (northeast Asia) basis.

March contracts were at $2,455-2,465/tonne, up $40-45/tonne from February.

Any increase for May contracts could be less pronounced as the spot capro market is on a softening trend, the sources said.

Key suppliers to Asia include Ube Industries, Sumitomo Chemical, BASF, China Petrochemical Development Corp and DSM Nanjing Chemical.
