HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US refiner Valero expects to have a more detailed proposal for its board of directors sometime this year on a $2.1bn (€1.3bn) petrochemical project at its 250,000 bbl/day refinery in St Charles, Louisiana, the company said on Thursday.
The proposed project calls for satisfying MSAT II regulations by removing benzene from gasoline at St. Charles and building a paraxylene (PX) plant.
The proposal was earlier reported by ICIS news.
