HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Canadian fertilizer producer Agrium has obtained all necessary approvals under US anti-monopoly regulations to acquire agricultural distributor United Agri Products (UAP), the company said on Thursday.

As such, Agrium will be allowed to accept for payment all UAP shares, the company said.

The regulations fall under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.

The UAP deal is valued at $2.65bn (€1.67bn).
