YNCC settles May BD contract $134/tonne up

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Yeochun Naphtha Cracking Center (YNCC) has settled its May butadiene (BD) contract at $1,827/tonne pipeline delivered, up $134/tonne from April, a company official said.

YNCC, South Korea’s largest olefins producer had settled its April BD contract at $1,693/tonne pipeline delivered.

The YNCC contract formula is linked to Asia spot pricing.

BD spot prices in Asia have soared to $1,900-1,920/tonne CFR (cost and freight) northeast (NE) Asia in May, up more than $250/tonne since March, according to global chemicals market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
