It would have a limited effect in some of the petrochemical markets, as the government had given a week’s notice ahead of the ban and most traders and end-users had prepared for this eventuality well ahead of the ban, said traders.

“It’s impossible for people to stop working completely due these periods,” he said.
“Most end-users had bought (cargoes) before the restriction [came into force],” said a South China-based aromatics trader, adding that they had replenished their tanks in advance for this too.
