LONDON (ICIS news)--Global and regional plastics futures prices from the London Metal Exchange are given in the table below.

Sinopec subsidiary Qingdao Refining & Chemical Company will start up a new polypropylene (PP) plant on 28 May.

PP production at LyondellBasell’s plant in Morris, Illinois, will cease in the fourth quarter of 2008 as part of a strategy to consolidate production at facilities with the most advanced manufacturing technology.

South Korea’s Hanwha Chemical has again shut down its 120,000 tonne/year No 2 low density polyethylene (LDPE) unit in Yeochun due to a power outage.

Daelim Industrial may restart its 140,000 tonne/year No 3 high density PE (HDPE) plant, also in Yeochun, by Friday after shutting it on 3 May due to a sudden disruption in its ethylene feedstock supply.
