SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical shut down its 500,000 tonne/year styrene monomer (SM) plant on 6 May, a company source said on Wednesday.
The maintenance turnaround would last 12 days, the source added.
The company had earlier shut down its downstream 100,000 tonne/year polystyrene (PS) line to balance material supply during the SM plant shutdown, the source said.
Its two other PS lines with total capacity of 200,000 tonnes/year would operate normally during this period, he added.
SECCO is a joint venture of Sinopec, Shanghai Petrochemical and BP.
