SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--South Korea’s SKC has achieved on-spec propylene oxide (PO) production at its new 100,000 tonne/year plant in Ulsan, a company source said on Thursday.
There was unlikely to be much impact on the regional market soon, however, as sales of product from the facility would initially be focused on the domestic market, sellers and buyers said.
Trial runs at the plant began in March and it will be the first in the world to commercialise the hydrogen peroxide-to-propylene oxide (HPPO) process.
