LONDON (ICIS news)--The European Central Bank left interest rates unchanged at 4% on Thursday to dampen inflation despite signs of an economic slowdown.?xml:namespace>
The bank is widely expected to keep its lending rate on hold until September as soaring food and energy prices have driven inflation above 3% in the eurozone.
The ECB has held interest rates at 4% since July 2007.
Earlier, the Bank of England held UK interest rates at 5%.
