SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwan’s Nanya Plastics has shut its toluene di-isocyanate (TDI) plant in Mailiao indefinitely due to mechanical problems, a company source said on Wednesday.
“We don’t know when the plant will resume production as we don’t know when the problems can be resolved,” said the source, who declined to comment on the problems at the 30,000 tonne/year plant.
Nanya was running the plant at reduced rates before shutting it down in April, he said.
The shutdown exacerbated the tight regional TDI supply situation as availability had been reduced due to scheduled plant turnarounds in ?xml:namespace>
