Chengdu airport resumes full ops after quake

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--The Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport has resumed full operations, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said in a statement late on Wednesday.

Repairs to the air traffic control facilities and equipment have been completed following the recent Sichuan quake. This would enhance the delivery of disaster relief supplies as well as personnel, the government authority added.

Despite returning to full operational capacity, CAAC has reminded the general public that the airport’s priority remains on providing relief for the Sichuan quake victims. Commercial flights may still either be delayed or cancelled.
