VIENNA (ICIS news)--Kuwait Petroleum Corp (KPC) expects to double sulphur production by early 2012, a company official said on Monday.
KPC's sulphur output would increase to 1.6m tonnes/year from the current 850,000 tonnes/year once its new refinery came on stream in early 2012, he added on the sidelines of the 76th International Fertilizer Industry Association conference.
Construction of the new 600,000-650,000 bbl/day refinery will start later this year and is expected to be complete in late 2011 or early 2012, the official said.
The IFA conference runs from 19-21 May.
