HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Chemtura plans to expand over-based calcium sulfonate production capacity at its West Hill plant in Ontario, Canada, by more than 25%, the company said on Monday.

The expansion of Chemtura’s Hyabase product line capacity will be completed by November, said Kirk Schlup, global industry leader, marine and fuels.

The expansion is driven by growth in the marine and industrial areas, Schlup said in a statement. The material is typically used as a detergent and rust inhibitor in crankcase lubricants, according to Chemtura’s website.

Chemtura did not release the cost of the expansion, nor did it release its current capacity.
