SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China-based Zhoushan Hbon Chemical is producing on-spec benzene, toluene and xylene at its new aromatics unit in the eastern province of Zhejiang, said a company source on Tuesday.

"We have passed the privilege of sales for our aromatics products to Sinopec’s Shanghai sales branch which has already started selling to the market," the source added.

The new 800,000 tonne/year reformer unit and its accompanying aromatics unit started up and began trial runs on 20 April.

The aromatics unit produces 50,000 tonne/year of benzene, 150,000 tonne/year of toluene and 200,000 tonne/year of xylene.
