SINGAPORE (ICIS news) -- Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPC) will restart its olefins conversion unit (OCU) in Mailiao on 8 or 9 June, a company source said on Friday.

“The technical problems have been fixed,” added the source.

The OCU, which has a production capacity of 250,000 tonnes/year of propylene, has been shut since 19 February to fix persistent technical problems.

The OCU was last shut for a 15-day turnaround in early January. However, operations continued to be unstable after the turnaround.
