SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China's Daqing Oilfield Chemical Group will shut down its 200,000 tonne/year acetic acid plant on 27 May, a company source said on Monday.
The scheduled maintenance would last for about three weeks, the source said, adding that the company would raise acetic acid prices by yuan (CNY)250/tonne ($36/tonne) to CNY5,800/tonne ex-works, effective from Tuesday.
"We had to cut the output gradually to 500 tonnes/day last week and we will supply our products only in northeast China during the maintenance period," the source said.
Daqing, one of the major acetic acid producers in China, is located in Heilongjiang province.
