SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China’s Hulunbuir Dongneng Chemical Industry plans to begin trial runs at its new 400,000 tonne/year methanol plant in late June, a company source said on Monday.
The plant would use coal as feedstock instead of natural gas, the source said declining to provide further details.
The company also planned to construct an 800,000tonne/year methanol facility and a 300,000 tonne/year dimethyl ether (DME) unit at the same site, the source added.
The plant is located at Hulunbuir in the northern Chinese province of Inner Mongolia.
