SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China-based Anhui Linquan Chemical Industry Co has restarted its 50,000 tonne/year methanol plant after it shut down due to an unexpected snag, a company source said on Monday.

The methanol plant in Linquan county in the central Chinese province of Anhui was shut down last Monday due to an unexpected snag, the source said, adding its other 30,000 tonne/year methanol line was operating normally.

The company is building a new 150,000 tonne/year methanol plant and trial runs are set to begin in August this year.

Methanol rose yuan (CNY) 310-350/tonne ($45-50/tonne) to CNY4,750-4,830/tonne ex-tank east China from a week earlier on tight supply, traders said.

($1 = CNY6.94)
