SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Meghmani Organics Limited is planning to start up its new caustic soda plant at Dahej, India, in February 2009, a source said on Tuesday.
“The new plant will be ready by December 2008, and we will conduct trial runs for about three months before we start commercial productions in February,” the source said on the sidelines of the Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference (APIC).
The 113,000 tonne/year caustic soda plant will employ eco-friendly and energy saving membrane-cell technology from Japan's Asahi Kasei Chemicals.
The International Finance Corp (IFC), a private investment arm of the World Bank holds 25% stake in the new plant.
