LONDON (ICIS news)--Air Liquide has agreed to buy a controlling stake in the chemical management division of US-based Edwards Vacuum, the France-based group said on Tuesday.

Air Liquide said the acquisition would complement its electronics division’s position in the high purity fluid and equipment and installation sector, particularly in the US and Asia.

The business employs about 120 people and achieved sales of $50m (€32m) in 2007.

The deal is expected to close in June following regulatory approval.

Edwards Vacuum produces and sells chemical and slurry dispensing equipment and installations to semi-conductor manufacturers.
