SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Dubai-based Petrochem Middle East, a key distributor of aromatics, is on track to launch its Singapore trading unit on 15 July, said a company source late on Tuesday.

Speaking in the sidelines of the Asian Petrochemical Industry Conference (APIC), he said that the Singapore office would have a formal opening on 15 July, with trading of key aromatics slated to start from second-half of July.

"We are interested in trading BTX {benzene, toluene, xylenes], and we plan to work with the majors on spot formula basis with assured volumes," he said.

Petrochem has been trading in the Middle East followed by India for the past nine years, he added.
