Taiwan’s CPDC to turn around ACN lines in August

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwanese acrylonitrile (ACN) producer China Petrochemical Development Corp (CPDC) will shut down its two lines in August for maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

"We will shut one line for nine days and the other line for 20 days in August for maintenance," the source added.

The CPDC units, each with a capacity of  95,000 tonnes/year, are located at Ta-sheh in Taiwan. 

CPDC’s upcoming August shutdown is likely to tighten supply and add upward pressure on the price, traders said.

Spot prices have soared to around $2,050-2,100/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Asia, up about $200/tonne since early April, according to global chemical market intelligence service, ICIS pricing
