LONDON (ICIS news)--Ciba Specialty Chemicals has raised prices across its global portfolio with immediate affect to counter high raw material, energy and transport costs, the Switzerland-based group said on Friday.?xml:namespace>
Ciba said the hikes would be across all product ranges, with some increases in excess of 20%.
“Further immediate price increases are needed to fully reflect the exposure of our products to unprecedented increases in raw material, energy and transport costs,” said CEO Brendan Cummins.
It was unclear whether customers would accept the increases.
On Wednesday Dow Chemical announced price hikes on all of its products by up to 20% in response to surging energy costs.
