LONDON (ICIS news)--Arkema has purchased LyondellBasell’s ethacryl business through its flow additives subsidiary Coatex, the French specialty chemicals company said on Monday.

Coatex, which specialises in acrylic-based polymers, will be complimented by the ethacryl business’s range of polycarboxylates molecules, the company said in a statement.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

“The ethyacryl activitiy fits in well with Coatex’s additive range for construction materials. It will help build our expertise in the synthesis and formulation of these additives, as well as our commercial presence in the concrete and plaster markets,” Coatex chairman Alain Mari said.
