Dow Corning expands German silicone rubber plantLONDON (ICIS news)--Dow Corning has expanded its silicone rubber operations at its facility in Wiesbaden, Germany, to meet the growing demand for the product in Europe and the Middle East, the US-owned company said.

“This latest investment in a centralised production and warehousing facility furthers Dow Corning’s ability to provide customers with quality products, services and improved delivery performance,” the company added.

The expansion had created additional high consistency rubber (HCR) capacity but the plant would also continue to produce liquid silicone rubber, Dow Corning said, without going into specifics.

“Europe continues to be one of our important markets and we see the wider Europe as [a] growth engine for silicones. We are excited about this expansion, which plays a strategic role in our European and global manufacturing and distribution network,” Dow Corning European area manager Klaus Hoffman said.

“It demonstrates our long-term commitment to Europe and our confidence in the potential of this market and those of neighbouring countries and regions,” he added.
