LONDON (ICIS news)--Chance and Hunt is to buy GrowHow UK’s (GHUK) carbon dioxide liquefaction business based at Billingham in the UK, the company said on Monday.
“The business to be acquired is based on the manufacturing, sales and distribution of liquefied carbon dioxide derived as a co-product from the ammonia plant operated by GHUK,” the company, which is a joint venture between Yara International and Terra Industries, said in a statement.
No financial details of the transaction were disclosed.
Yara International acquired its share in the joint venture when it purchased Kemira GrowHow in 2007 and had to sell it to comply with the European Commission, the company said.
“The sale of the GrowHow UK carbon dioxide business to Chance and Hunt has been approved by the European Commission,” the company said.
