LONDON (ICIS news)--Dow has declared force majeure on supplies of ethylene (C2) from its No 2 cracker at Terneuzen, the Netherlands, due to an unplanned outage , a company source said on Wednesday.

The cracker, one of three operated by the company at the site, tripped on Sunday, 1 June.
“We expect it to be out for at least a week”, the source said.
The 575,000 tonne/year ethylene cracker was only recently restarted, with some delays, following a planned shutdown. It also has the capacity to produce 295,000 tonnes/year of propylene.
Last week Dow announced that it was cutting operating rates at all its European crackers by 5% as margins were being heavily squeezed by record high naphtha prices.
