SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical has restarted its Mizushima cracker and the facility is set to resume on-spec ethylene by early Thursday morning after maintenance, a source from the company said on Wednesday.?xml:namespace>
“We have restarted the cracker but it is still in the early stages of the restart,” the source added.
The 450,000 tonne/year cracker was shut on 15 May for a maintenance turnaround.
Mitsubishi’s 375,000 tonne/year Kashima No 1 cracker is also undergoing a maintenance turnaround and will be restarted on 1 July.
Mitsubishi operates three crackers with a combined capacity of about 1.3m tonne/year.
