TORONTO (ICIS news)--PolyOne has signed a marketing agreement with Eastman Chemical to become the exclusive compounder of filled systems with Eastman's new-generation Tritan copolyester, the ?xml:namespace>

Under the agreement PolyOne would combine Eastman's copolyester with performance-enhancing additives to develop fully compounded systems, it said.
Financial terms, market data or projections were not disclosed.
Tritan, a copolyester made without bisphenol-A (BPA), offered moulders faster moulding cycles, fewer production steps and potential energy savings, PolyOne said.
Its applications included moulded parts for small kitchen appliances such as reusable food containers and sports bottles that undergo repeated dishwasher cycles.
"We are pleased that Eastman is looking to PolyOne for its technology and service capabilities to fulfill the technical and commercial promise of this versatile new plastic," said Craig Nikrant, PolyOne vice president and general manager of the company’s specialty engineered materials business.
