SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Shanghai Chlor-Alkali  will restart its caustic soda and ethylene dichloride (EDC) facilities on 20-21 June after a three-week maintenance turnaround, a source close to the company said late Thursday.

The company’s two liquid caustic soda production units, each with a capacity of 180,000 tonnes/year, and its 360,000 tonnes/year ethylene dichloride (EDC) facilities at its Shanghai Caojing complex were shut for annual maintenance on June 1, the source said.

Asian caustic soda was last week assessed at $440-450/tonne FOB (free on board) northeast Asia, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing, with market players generally bullish due to tight supply and strong demand
